Fishing Tips First of all, never tie a knot directly onto a lure. Use light and simple snaps, such as the models shown below, in size suitable to lure size and line dameter. The snaps allow you to tie a quality knot that retains full line strenght as well as offering a quick method of lure change. They also have no affect on the lure´s vibration and diving depth - two essential characteristics. Avoid swivels or complicated snaps whenever possible for they change the balance of the lure. Of course, when fishing pike or other sharp toothed predators with larger lure models, you can use wire trace or other safety leaders. Use the lightest tackle possible. When using the small size of Ugly Duckling®, the rod should be light, flexible and long, say 2.5 to 4.0 meters. Recommended line diameter is 0.12 or 0.14 milimetres and should not exceed 0.20 milimetres. For larger models, somewhat stiffer fishing rods can be used with lines of regular diameters. Retrieve as slowly as possible to maintain vibration. In fast-flowing streams or a strong current it is often enough only to hold the wobbler unit it is very close to the riverbank. There is no universal rule in fishing, but generally dark-coloured lures work best in transparent water. Bright-coloured ones are more suited to less clesr water and when light is dim. Always try different combinations of size, colour and weight guided by your own experience. How To Tune Ugly Duckling® If, for any reason, the wobbler moves irregularly, readjust the guiding ring as shown below. This should be done very carefully using small pliers. | a) Wobbler works correctly when its back is vertically aligned with ots belly. | | b) Wobbler rises its left flank in regard to anglers position. Adjust the guiding rings to the right. | | c) Wobbler rises its right flank in regard to anglers position. Adjust the guidingrings to the left. | Ugly Duckling® is a first class product that makes a master out of a regular fisherman
